“You are Loving Awareness”

The stars and galaxy as seen from Rocky Mountain National Park.

You are the stars and the moon

And you are the sun rising and setting

You are the eagles soaring

And you are the seasons passing

Open and present

To whatever greets you

Nothing can ever prevent you

From being everything

And nothing

Loving awareness is who you are.

“The Perfect Role Model”

time-lapse photography of lake during daytime

A mountain creek

Is the perfect role model

For how to live one’s life…..

It is freely flowing

Eternally peaceful

Filled with purpose

Attached not to any destination

And fearlessly present.

“The Perfect Morning”

time lapse photography of multi-step waterfalls

Wake up

Meditate and pray

Read sacred scriptures

Tend to the garden

Hike through the forest

Swim in a mountain creek

Write some poetry

Eat breakfast mindfully

Give thanks to the One

To be alive another morning.

“Prayer to a Guru”

green tree under blue sky during daytime

Great Tree:

Each day

I come to you

To revel in your wisdom

And to receive your blessings

Channeled through time….

So sacred are your teachings

Filled with the boundless grace

Befitting of a guru

As cherished and divine as you….

I bow my head in reverence.

“The Earth is My Church”

By: Forrest Rivers

three multicolored birds in close-up photography

Chirping birds

Sing their heavenly song

Early in the morning

The rising sun greets

Hungry seekers

Gathered in worship

And the cool air brings

Levity to a new day….

In this church, you see,

There is no priest

Other then the rocks and trees

The mountains and the breeze.

“The Soul of Nature”

By: Forrest Rivers

forest trees

The trail is my refuge

A road to God

The beckons my mind

To acknowledge

All I am a part of….

As I walk

My spirit is moved

By the beauty of the divine

Beyond space and time

The soul of nature

Is reflected in the moon

Watching

Waiting

With her eyes

Fixed on the tides

That condition my mood

To transcend

the illusion of separateness.

Mindful Musings-Earth Day!

“Tales of Rebirth”

white and pink flowers under blue sky during daytime

Tales of rebirth

A genesis

New beginnings

A divine reception

Seeds growing

As winter rides

Faithfully off

Into the sunset

Spring rains

Bring

Gardens to till

But this time

One finds

The secret of life

Hidden in plain sight

Just like the Earth

Spinning

On her cosmic wheel

Of birth and death.

“An Ode to my Beloved”

photo of mountains under blue sky

I can see you

I can feel you

And i can smell you

Oh supreme Goddess

Your divine fragrance is strong….

For your blooming spring flowers

Entrance my senses

And the glorious blue mountains

In whom you take your exalted form

Stirs something deep within me

That is so primal

Pure

And all knowing….

Oh, Eternal Goddess of truth and righteousness

How can I possibly ascend your rarefied peaks

When my own soul is still undeserving

Of your inextinguishable love?

“A Glimpse of Eternity”

2 person standing on rocky hill near green trees under blue sky during daytime

Walking

In the direction

Far away

From our broken

Low down society

Rotten

Like spoiled milk

I may just leave

Everything behind today

To gain a glimpse

Of that unspoken truth

The TAO of new beginnings

And Buddha meeting Christ

On the winding road of love….

The sun sets

the moon emerges

And still I wander

To where?

I don’t know

To when?

I haven’t a clue!

How long,

Until I decide

To effortlessly flow

With the eternal springs of life?
